Power cut
Good afternoon,
I was just sitting down to write my blog this morning when we had a scheduled power cut that I had forgotten about.
2 hours of no television for the toddler, no kettle for my coffee, no heating or hot water. No electric to power the vac, no buzzing of electricity running through appliances (something I am not aware of noticing normally but when it is absent you realise it was there).
The silence was a welcome change in the noise which has become the norm. I took the time to just stop and play with the children, then when they went to sleep I took the opportunity to read, pure luxury. What I didn’t do was rush around tidying and cleaning like I would if I had hot water for washing up and electric for vacuuming and power for the washing machine.
What a refreshing change to the start of the day.
