About me

I am a disabled single mum and hope to be a writer, I am studying with Writers Bureau, I do book reviews and try to write something every day.  I enter competitions when I have extra time available. I am also setting up a reading group.

  1. I was interested to see a review of a book by Margaret Dickinson as I know her, although I haven’t seen her for a while. She lives in Skegness, where I live and was once a member of a local writers group which I belonged to.

  2. Nice site, from a children author in Concord, Ca.
    Found thru Linkedin

    • Thankyou for your support, I intend to start reviewing some childrens books, the ones I read to my toddler and the ones I help my 9-year old read (he has Asperger’s Syndrome), so please check back regularly.

  3. Hey, found your blog off of Goodreads. I love following along with other aspiring writers (like myself) and book bloggers (also like myself). Plus, I’m an editor, so if you have any manuscripts you’d like for someone to look over (for free–did I mention free?), then I’m your guy! By the way, I like the look of your blog.

    Best of luck!

    • Thanks for the positive comments Sierra. I haven’t started writing a book yet although I have plans in mind, I will keep you very kind offer in mind though, thanks again. Adele

  4. Hi Adele – Some time ago you commented on my blog (TheShelterat PapasFarm.blogspot.com) that you would like an autographed copy of my book. If you would still like one, please send your mailing address to my email address. I also have a pdf file, if you’d prefer it that way. Would you also be able to do a review?? Hope to hear from you.

    • Hi Elizabeth, I would be pleased to do a review of your book in return for a signed p/back copy. Now I am back in the cyber world I will contact you.
      Thanks for the interest.

  5. Hi, Adele – you’re the winner of my book giveaway! Well done! Can you send me your address to: helenyendall@yahoo.co.uk and I’ll put it in the post to you? thanks!

    • Hello and thank you,

I have won giveaways on Goodreads before but this is my first win on another blogsite. I am really looking forward to receiving the book and having a good look through it. Thanks again.

  6. Adele,

Good luck with your writing endeavors. I know you can do it!

    • Jerrye,

Thanks for the vote of confidence, I have a long way to go yet before I will be ready to start writing my own books, I plan to make a start in a years time when my youngest will be at nursery every morning. At present I am concentrating on helping to promote other people’s work and reviewing as many books as I can.

      Adele

  7. Adele,

You have been writing some wonderful articles on various topics. Keep up the good work!

    • Thanks Jerrye,
Unfortunately I can’t take the credit if you are talking about the press releases, as these are sent to me by Ascot Media Group, I post the press releases and add any links and pictures that I find and then I can contact the author about book reviews and author interviews. I should have some good interviews coming up in the next 6 months.

  8. Dear Adele , I do really appreciate your commitment to writing though you are disabled and a mother ,I disability in mind not organic , sure the concerto made by Beethoven who is deaf never had been done or will be done by another who listens . Miracles come out when we are insightly strong and healthy , it s a wealth and treasure you have
    sincerly kader

    • Thank you Kader,
I do not see my writing as an added chore. My reading and writing are my escape from the difficulties I face and a form of stress relief and relaxation, I am happiest when immersed in a good book. My children provide hours of pleasurable time and small moments of insight and unabated joy, my life would be so less colourful without them. My disability just creates new challenges to overcome, and opportunities to be creative in finding different ways to do things.

I’d also love to have you take a look at my book and if it interests you would love to have you review it. If interested please e-mail me @

  10. Hello Adele,
What a lovely blogging site this is, maybe one day I will understand mine and be able to do a few more bits on it, hopefully,

  11. Hello dear, thought you should know that an e-mail just went out from you and it is an attack page. Hope you weren’t hacked! (Or, rather, I hope you were, but thought you should know?!?!?)

    • Yes my email has been hacked while I was in hospital, any emails sent between 4th Dec and today should be deleted without being opened, my email has now been blocked and is not in use, I will be setting up another one.
